Inspired by the early album quilts and the exceptional examples of the Baltimore Album Quilts I saw at the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum in Williamsburg this summer--an assemblage of appliqued image blocks, often having some special meaning to the maker and/or the recipient--here subdued from the turkey red and poison green popular at the time. My quilt is composed of all the images created for Donna Brua's poetry book "Nailing Together Bits of Chaos=--Jerry-Rigging a Life." see: http://bitsofchaos.com/books.html
