Artist's Description
“Apples Four Ways” is one of 73 images created for the book "Nailing Together Bits of Chaos: Jerry-Rigging a Life", poems by Donna Brua. The book is available for sale at http://bitsofchaos.com/books.html
The poem “Why Apples in This Still Life” that inspired this drawing gave a nod to the important role of the apple in the artist's still life. As an artist and antiques dealer, doing the drawing was a treat, but I have no question as to why the apple is in the still life—it is red, wonderfully, beautifully red. What a delightful entry into the Favorite Food contest.. I came on this by accident and had to comment.. Revisiting this treasure.. Voting.
Carol Jacobs replied:
Thank you Marie. This was done in an apple bonanza year. This year I must enjoy my apples on paper as I only had five on my three trees. I left those for the deer. They surely miss them more than I do.

Carol, I love apples in every form...that wonderful pie though is making me VERY hungry for breakfast. I enjoyed your description as well. I always have a soft spot in my heart for a good black and white...this reminds me of my Grandmother Charlotte!
Carol Jacobs replied:
Nothing as good as Grandma's perfect apple pie. Thanks, Jerry.
