This drawing is inspired by the first stanza of the poem "Demons of Naught"--"a hounded fox running from ivory teeth...caroming from shrub to rock to hole, haunted by ephemeral fiends. Here is the hunt from the point-of-view of the fox.
Demons of Naught
When was it
that flash of darkness struck
when you awoke
in a cold sweat, a hounded fox
running from ivory teeth
more piercing than the bark of fear?
you saw no plan, no planner
but you, caroming
from shrub to rock to hole,
haunted by ephemeral fiends,
and thought you were the only one?
